A keen Auckland “boatie” all his life, Steve recently moved to Karaka to sell our elegant homes at Karaka Lakes. Steve's been with Universal for 19 years, all of which were spent in the City of Sails. Steve is enjoying the excitement of selling a new community at Karaka Lakes, and watching it take shape day by day. 

“It’s a whole new suburb – very advanced in planning and incredibly well thought-out. A lot of foresight went into its design,” he says.  Steve also enjoys fishing and running long-distance. 

Last year he took part in – and finished – the gruelling New York Marathon.

During his “big OE”, Jason spent the best part of three years in the UK construction industry, and certainly knows a well-built house when he sees one. He now concentrates on selling our homes at Pine Valley, and is proud of their quality.

“They’re genuinely solid,” he says. “I specially like the use of Linea weatherboard and brick. Plus they offer an excellent opportunity for buyers to settle in an area with first-rate amenities.”

Jason grew up in Wellington, but moved to Auckland six years ago, and is now an Albany local. He’s passionate about sport – “any sport; all sports”.

Marie sells our homes at Totara Views in Orewa – an area she has known all her life. 
 

She grew up on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula and attended Orewa College. She plays touch rugby with The Rock in Silverdale, and enjoys camping holidays with her partner.
Marie joined Universal Homes soon after finishing college, and has now been with the company for ten years. 
 

She’s a great enthusiast for Totara Views.  “Totara Views has an excellent location, just a couple of minutes from Orewa. It’s close to the motorway, beaches and schools, and the homes are maintenance-free,” she says.

Just 13 when he moved to Mangawhai, Mike has spent most of his life in the area, enjoying the coastal lifestyle and superb surf of the Heads. 

Throughout that time, he’s been involved with the local lifesaving club, and his twin sons, now 16, are following suit. Mike also enjoys fishing, swimming and diving along the coast.

He describes our Mangawhai estate as: “Real homes; really good quality; nicely appointed and laid out.” And, he adds, “They also have very generous room and floor sizes - it’s Universal’s big point of difference.”

Overseeing the Universal Homes' sales team is Sales and Marketing Manager Mike Pearce who has more than 20 years experience in the residential building industry. Mike has spent most of those years with Universal including five years working for the group in Australia where he completed a two year Diploma in Business, specialising in real estate management.

On returning to New Zealand, Mike worked briefly for a property investment and development company before returning to Universal to take up his present position in 2003.

Married with 10 grandchildren, Mike's family life is a top priority. However, he manages to include his love of the property industry in his away-from-work time where he enjoys educating people on property investment. He also lists reading, walking, rugby and boating as favourite activities and has taken on the role of treasurer for his local ratepayers' association. He is a committee member of his local boat club.
