NEIGHBOURHOOD
For many years, Greenhithe was a secluded little village tucked away on the western side of the North Shore. Residential building over the past few years, along with improved access provided by the Upper Harbour Motorway, have brought growth – but, despite development, Greenhithe remains a strong, welcoming community with a unique village atmosphere. Young families are well-catered for with a playcentre and kindergarten for pre-schoolers, and there are well-regarded primary schools at Greenhithe and Upper Harbour. Numerous community-based organisations, clubs and sporting bodies thrive in the village ranging from sea scouts and girl guides to fishing, tennis, pony club, soccer, bridge, jazz and Lions’ clubs. All this in a picturesque, leafy, location near the water. Beaches are closeby at the North Shore’s eastern bays, and harbourside walks provide opportunities to enjoy harbour views.
